Main Responsibilities

The main task of the Business Unit Manager is to develop and implement an overall sales strategy for their team. They ensure that their team's actions follow the company's guidelines.

The Business Unit Director manages and supervises the commercial teams (marketing, sales, production, etc.) to ensure their profitability. He/she supervises budgets, monitors financial performance and any deviations from targets. If necessary, they take corrective action.

The Business Unit Director monitors the competition to keep abreast of competitors' actions and strategies. They must keep abreast of the company's development opportunities, market trends and customer needs. They then analyse this data to adapt the company's strategy accordingly. In this way, they can develop new products or services to boost sales.

The Business Unit Director is the main contact for the company's customers, suppliers and strategic partners. They must be able to manage these relationships, negotiate new contracts and ensure their satisfaction.

To limit the risks associated with the unit's activities, the Business Unit Manager implements action plans to minimise them. He or she regularly assesses the unit's performance and recommends corrective action where necessary.
