HR Manager

Role overview

The Human Resources Manager (HRM) plays a key role in a company's human resources management. He or she is responsible for supervising and coordinating all personnel management activities, ensuring that HR policies and procedures comply with current legislation and the company's strategic objectives.

The HR Manager has an in-depth knowledge of the various HR functions such as recruitment, training, talent management, compensation and benefits, industrial relations and conflict resolution. In this job, the HR Manager works closely with management and other departments to ensure that HR policies are consistent and effective.

In this job, the HR Manager must be a competent leader with strong communication and problem-solving skills. They must be able to analyse business needs, develop appropriate HR strategies and implement programmes and initiatives aimed at attracting, developing and retaining talent within the company.

In this role, it is possible to progress to more senior management positions such as Human Resources Director, or to specialise in specific areas such as talent management, organisational change or industrial relations.

The HR Manager works in collaboration with the Payroll Manager, the Human Resources Director and other members of the HR team.

Main Responsibilities

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and overseeing the company's HR policies and programmes. Key responsibilities include recruitment and selection, training and development, talent management, compensation and benefits, employee relations and legal compliance.

In recruitment and selection, the HRR is involved in identifying staffing needs, drafting and circulating job advertisements, selecting candidates, conducting interviews and making the final decision.

HR Managers design and implement programmes to develop skills and improve staff performance.

Within the company, the Human Resources Manager identifies and develops talent by putting in place succession programmes, career plans and skills development initiatives.

In terms of remuneration and benefits, the HR Manager manages the company's remuneration policy, including salaries, pay, bonuses and benefits, ensuring that they are competitive in the labour market.

The Human Resources Manager's job is to manage interactions with employee representatives, facilitate the negotiation of collective agreements and act as a mediator to resolve conflicts and problems.

Lastly, the HR Manager must ensure that the company complies with the laws and regulations on employment law, health and safety, protection of privacy and so on.
