Main Responsibilities
The position of Methods Engineer is essential in any product manufacturing company. Their main task is to analyse production processes and identify areas for improvement. To do this, they identify and analyse the strengths and weaknesses of existing production methods. They then design more efficient creative processes with a view to reducing development costs. They draw up action plans to implement them, determining the technical resources required and the steps to be followed.
The Methods Engineer supervises and coordinates the activities of the operational teams. He or she is responsible for training them in new procedures and ensuring that they are properly implemented. This ensures effective adoption and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
The Methods Engineer also develops performance indicators to measure the efficiency of production mechanisms. These include measurements of product quality and manufacturing costs. This data enables them to assess the efficiency of production processes and identify areas requiring optimisation.
The Methods Engineer is also involved in technology watch and research into emerging practices to improve production processes. In this way, they can propose solutions to make the company more competitive.
