Main Responsibilities
The Product Owner identifies market needs and opportunities on the web in order to define new products for launch. This role requires a solid understanding of customer needs, market trends and company objectives, as well as the ability to work closely with other teams.
By gathering and analysing customer needs and market trends in their sector, Product Owners can define the product's vision and future launch plan, including key stages such as budgeting and back-planning. In this way, he or she draws up a roadmap for developing the product so that it is perfectly aligned with the organisation's overall objectives and is effectively positioned on the market.
Using the Scrum methodology, iteration after iteration, the Product Owner designs and develops the project. Working with the Research and Development team, he or she defines and prioritises the new functionalities to be designed and ensures, at each new development sprint, that the project evolves in line with the product backlog. Then, with the marketing team, he coordinates promotion by optimising the user experience on the brand's website, and updating, deleting or adding products.
Finally, the Product Owner gathers and analyses key indicators relating to product performance on the market and with customers. As part of an agile project, he or she passes on the data collected to the development department to identify opportunities for improving certain functionalities. Together with the marketing team, they assess how to reposition certain projects in the market. They may also carry out market research, create communication materials and work with the sales team to develop go-to-market strategies.
