Main Responsibilities

The Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing production, drawing up plans to meet demand for healthcare products while optimising available resources.

It ensures efficient management of human, material and financial resources to ensure smooth, compliant production. Daily supervision of manufacturing operations ensures compliance with quality standards, SOPs and production deadlines.

It identifies and implements continuous improvements to increase operational efficiency, reduce costs and minimise risks. Close collaboration with the Quality Assurance department ensures that products comply with standards and regulations.

He/she manages and supervises teams, implements preventive maintenance programmes, monitors stock levels, ensures health and safety at work, manages changes in line with quality requirements, participates in process validation, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement by constantly identifying opportunities for optimisation.

Competencies & Skills

 

  • Knowledge of quality standards: A thorough understanding of quality standards specific to the healthcare industry, such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and other relevant regulations.
  • Production management: Advanced production planning and management skills, including the ability to draw up production schedules, manage resources and ensure continuity of production.
  • Process optimisation: Process analysis skills to identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvements in production operations.
  • Knowledge of production equipment: In-depth understanding of production equipment specific to the healthcare industry, as well as the ability to coordinate preventive maintenance and resolve technical problems.
  • Quality management systems: Experience with quality management systems and the ability to implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Inventory management: Skills in inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, managing material flows and preventing stock-outs.
  • Supply chain management: Understanding of the basic principles of supply chain management to ensure timely supply of raw materials and components.
  • Cost management: Ability to manage production costs, draw up budgets and identify ways of optimising costs while maintaining quality.
  • Process validation knowledge: Understanding of validation processes, including equipment qualification, process validation and computerised systems validation.
  • Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of regulations specific to the healthcare industry and ability to guarantee compliance with local and international standards.
